Spring is in the air and the lilacs are blooming! I have always loved these sweet smelling flowers, but I just recently learned that you can EAT THEM! Mostly used in sweet desserts and cocktails, this lovely flower can be more than just eye candy!

Lilac isn’t a commonly used herb, but it does have a few benefits. Lilac tea has been used to treat malaria; it also is supposedly effective against parasites and is good for you eye health (More on that from Edible Wild Food.)
Savory Recipe
The only dish I have found anyone use lilacs in that is even remotely savory is in a green salad as a garnish.
